Little Rock

Last night we did a show at a church, usually when we do church shows, space is pretty cramped, inside and out, the truck and all the bus’ with their trailers were kinda crammed along one little road, we were loading the truck after the show, it had rained a little off and on during the beginning of load out, but had stopped long enough for video and lighting to start loading the truck.

Now by this time I was to say the least a little frustrated with the hands, I’m not gonna get into that, just look at the tittle of this post that should be enough. I look over and to the right I see the new merch guy pushing a hamper up a trailer behind the bus ramp, about half way up and when the hamper was about to enter the trailer he slips and falls and the hamper rolling back down the ramp pretty much stops when it hits him in the face, I found that rather funny, so I laughed and started to make fun of him, while in mid motion to help him out, I get about the same spot and slip as well landing on my knee and then sliding down the ramp, karma came back to bite me in the butt… I then noticed the problem some idiot had diamond plated the entire back ramp which when wet, is like a slide, brilliant.

So myself and the merchant guy (both big guys)lay at the bottom of the trailer ramp door or ramp, kinda laughing / cursing the diamond plate, continued slipping and sliding trying to get a hamper in the trailer finally figuring out a way to get the hamper up in the trailer. I in turn received a strawberry on my knee and hurt pride. The moral of the story, don’t help merch people, just point and laugh.

Dallas RWRS

There were no snacks given.

Forgot one of the chairs. I think that crap’s Funny!

So we didn’t bring pj’s and screen’s, instead we tied into the score boards, pleural board(s), if we could put video on it, we tied in. The picture doesn’t do it justice, it was pretty spectacular. I’ve tied into the house and score boards before but this time was different, maybe there was more of it and multiple.

Another tour

We’re back out on another tour this week, and it’s “we” as in most of the guys that just got off tour, have started another one, same headliner, but different tour, missing some key guys, but it’s a bit of a smaller tour so we don’t need as many crew. (even tho I think I need one more guy, it’s no fun just barely beating audio down for load out)

It’s the second show and it seems that things are going pretty good, it’s a lot of work so far, but we should settle in and start to get into a groove.

What the show looks like from where I sit.

One of the best parts so far, was spending the last couple days with my old friend Farns. His radio station promoted the first two shows, it was so good to see him, I miss that guy, he’s always good for a laugh, sharing old and new stories.

Fantasy Baseball

Fantasy baseball is here, and this year I’m feeling pretty good about it, just like the Cubs, it could be my year to win.  There’s no money involved just bragging rights, but that’s enough for me.  I thought instead of listing the players I drafted, I thought I would list the last round of the draft, I think this round is the best, because by the time you get to the 21st round, there’s players left, but you know not guys you’ve heard of, I have to admit, I think I did pretty good for my last round, James Shields in my opinion is a pretty good thrower.

There are some players that I’ve seen over the years going to minor league games here and there, that I follow, just to see how their doing, I’m not sure why I do that, but I do, I drafted some of them this year, I’m sure the guys in the league thought I was crazy, but what can I say, no… seriously I don’t know what to say.

The best part of the list above is Derek Lee going in the last round, for some reason that makes me smile.

Home.

Just like that, another tour over. For the third year in a row I had the opportunity to work with some of the best crew guys around, and one of my favorite bands to work with.

But after being gone for a couple weeks, I’m ready for a couple days off with my beautiful wife.

Marriage

Today (March 11th) is Patti and I’s anniversary. It’s been 5 years we’ve been married, and 9 years we’ve been a couple. You always hear couples especially the ones that have been together for many years say “I love him/her more the older we get!”
I’m finding out how true that is, I love just being with her, i love her laugh and how she makes me laugh, having your best friend as your wife is awesome!

She really is the best thing to happen to me, I can’t imagine my life without her.

Road Pic’s

The past week has been good, we’re getting close to the end of the tour, some tours we will have something that the crew does together, like one tour we did wiffle ball, another we did something else, I believe it was bow and arrows, this one has been watching a tv series, and now for some us it has been playing catch with a baseball. My glove had disappeared on a tour some time ago, and I’ve been playing catch with my dad’s old glove that acquired some time ago. So buying a new glove was something I’ve been wanting to do, but just haven’t. It’s hard to find people that like to stand around and play catch, but I found some, Daniel, Sam and I all bought a glove on our day off now a couple days ago. And pretty much have been playing catch for hours everyday since, my arm is about to fall off, but it has to be the best purchase as far as road game/toys I’ve bought on the road in a long time, so much fun.

My new glove it’s pretty awesome.

Seattle.

Portland, you have to look close this picture, these donuts are amazing, Sam had a runner get us some just so guys like me thy has never had this donut place that always has a line around the block experience them, and if your wondering that is real bacon, and fruitloops.

There’s something wrong with this picture.

I’m thinking about a career change.
